seattle trips

A few weeks ago we made a trip to Seattle for a few days and well, I've been a little tardy posting pics. I bought the boy tickets to see the Sonics and the Phoenix Suns play (basketball--for those who are going: "Who the hell are they?!") for Christmas, so that was the main reason for the trip. We hopped on a bus (25 bux each, sooo cheap!) had a nap and we were there. It was quite fabulous really. Anyhoo, just a few pics around town. The best pastry in the world from Piroshky Piroshky down at Pike place. Last time I was in Seattle with the sisters, I regretted not going there and the Ukrainian blood in the boy made us stop and we had a rhubarb piroshky which honestly, was like manna from heaven. SOOOoo good. Reminiscent of Grandma's rhubarb turnovers. The last few are some goodies I picked up at Nancy of the Schmancy-Fancy-Nancy stores (www.fancyschmancypants.com). Some adorable cards (www.apakstudio.com), some Ukrainian doll stamps from The Small Object, a pack of pretty little papes and a needle case also from The Small Object (www.thesmallobject.com). Heart her stuff. (^___^)

We also checked out some awesome art galleries. At BLVD, I liked Parskid's little creatures and I recommend looking at both artist's work with the 3D glasses!! (www.blvdart.com/index.php) Also checked out Robert Burden's crazy and awesome Toybox series at Roq La Rue Gallery. He has painted childhood action figures in a very large scale and it's worth checking out. It's crazy!! (www.roqlarue.com) My favorite one was the Birds of a Feather show at the Suite 100 Gallery and I luurved Timothy Karpinski. The last photo here is Mr. Karpinski's "Close Your Eyes and I am Quiet" piece. His work is all stitched together and painted on books! Eeeek! His details are quite impeccable The photos really do nothing for how awesome his work is... I have a crush on all of them. (suite100gallery.com/artist/timothykarpinski)

Anyways a short but awesome trip and I can't wait to go back...maybe next time I'll stop by the awesome fabric store Stitches and actually bring some fabric home. They carry Kokka fabrics. Fabrics to dream about baby....
