New Cards!

Here's a few of my new card illustrations that I've been working on. Can't wait to get them back from the printers!

trips this year... San Fran

I am so behind on posting. And I apologize profusely. I've had a lot of changes in my life this year. All good, all super awesome and super positive. Thought I'd post some lovely pics of places I've been to this year. Starting with San Fransisco! Admittedly, this was my first time to San Fran. I met up with my sisters (we don't live close and we meet up in a new city every couple of years, it's pretty rad). I LOVE the architecture (who doesn't??!), the location the city is situated, and the lovely peeps who live there. I'm not alone with my love of this city. So many people dream of visiting and those dreamers are usually pretty damn satisfied when they leave...

vancouver IS pretty...

February, March and April are great times to go adventure in our lovely parks on the North shore and around Vancouver. I'm a little bit of a nature nerd and have a need to be outside as often as possible. About three weeks a go the man had to work the weekend, so I picked up a coffee and some snacks and ran around (run = walk) Lynn Canyon for a good 3 hours. It's just nice to be able to be surrounded by nature and forest even though you're in the city. It takes you out of the noise, the confusion (confusion that at most times, I do like) and forces you to stop, breath and relax. And I like that.

Two weeks ago, we went to Deep Cove and did the Quarry Rock hike. We made a quick stop at Honey Doughnuts, picked up and Americano (delicious) and a doughnut (of course). It was a quicker hike than I hoped, but the view is stunning and the huge rock at the top has a beautiful view of the cove. It is a stunning location for a picnic (or doughnut treats) and basking in the sun, when it does come out! It's uphill most of the hike, but it's short (30 min - 1 hr) and very beautiful.

I'll try to do more urban stuff soon, I tend to forget to take pics when I'm doing fun stuff around town, probably because I end up looking like a tourist! I promise, we do fun stuff in the city too.

Just posting some fresh illustrations. Working on a new series and goodies. enjoy. :)

winter time

Well, we went back to the homeland for Christmas. It was cold. It was full of food. It was full of too much wine and beers. It was long and it was noisy. But after a few days getting used of everything and everyone, it was really great. Did some skating, ate some delicious fondue, went to the country and went sledding with the nephews. And took a dip in my sisters outside hot-tub in -25ish temp. The stars were clear and pretty. We came home thankful to be in Vancouver with +5˚C after waking up to -25˚C in Edmonton. Being Vancouverites, we forgot to bring shades to the sunny prairies. You don't exactly use sunglasses in Vancouver in the winter. So we ended up having to buy some shades while we were out there. Unfortunately, we bought matching shades, so we ended up looking a little douche like. (hence the douche-y photo) Not on purpose may I add. Oh well, they saved my eyeballs from the glaring sun and the crazy bright white snow. That snow is damn bright people. I have to say, I did enjoy getting all frozen up for the 2 weeks, I feel like I'm not Canadian if I can't hack the cold in the winter!! I'm sane, I promise, that's just the farm girl talking... The city girl is back and I'm back into my cute wellies and skinny pants with only one layer and one pair of socks. Ahhhhh, muggy gray skies for 4 more months... ^_____^
